Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, 2024
I am an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist as certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. To earn this designation, a physical therapist must meet the required clinical experience in an orthopedic physical therapy setting, and then sit for a rigorous examination testing one's aptitude in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of all orthopedic issues in the adolescent and adult body. Nationally, only 6% of physical therapists have earned this designation.

Running Gait Analysis
Many things must go right in the human body (and mind) to produce an efficient and pain-free running stride. Repetitive micro-trauma develops into debilitating pain when the runner is unable to generate the required strength, motor control and/or joint range of motion. My training includes seven years working in a comprehensive 3-D motion capture gait laboratory producing very thorough running analyses. I bring this experience to my private practice to assess whether small adjustments to your gait pattern could result in very meaningful gains toward your running goals.
My Story
As an avid rock climber, resort and backcountry skier, mountain biker, trail runner, and former collegiate soccer player, I understand the physical toll we pay for pursuing our passions. After enduring four shoulder surgeries in six years and spending countless hours as a patient, I gained a deep understanding of how profoundly an expert physical therapist can impact someone's life. I truly felt as though my physical therapist gave me my life back, and I wanted to do the same for other people. This experience inspired me to pursue a career in physical therapy.
My clinical experience includes treating professional athletes, weekend warriors, couch potatoes, and everyone in-between. My philosophy is that this is your journey, your life, and my role is to help you find a way forward. Payment For Services
As is the trend in our industry, I have foregone the insurance-driven model that tends to promote a physical therapy "factory" environment in favor of a model that is entirely patient centered with focused one-on-one care. As a result, I do not accept health insurance as a method of payment but will provide patients with a “super bill” that they can submit to insurance providers for potential reimbursement. Payment is due at the time that services are rendered, and I accept all major credit cards as well as cash, Venmo, PayPal, personal checks, and (HSA) Health Savings Accounts.
